"I measure my success by the team I have surrounding
me and the fact that we dug in as a team, kept a positive
attitude, didn't let fear stop progress, and supported the
safety and health of everyone by shifting our operations
when necessary. BSGI is stronger and more unified as a
team than ever before," Hahn said.
Not only did she continue to keep her team working
and serving customers safely, Hahn used the past months
to complete the criteria to become a Women Business
Enterprise (WBE) Certified company, a certification that
helps to support her customers and to open doors that were
previously unavailable.
She said, "The shutdown actually helped move the
process along much faster because so much could be done
through virtual meetings instead of in person."
Being surrounded by like-minded business professionals
for support during challenging times can be a boon for
any business, Hahn believes, and suggests anyone looking
for growth and success can look toward organizations like
the Chamber, the Home Builders Association or industryrelated groups for advice.
Overall, Hahn believes fear can hold businesses back
from achieving their potential, and remaining open to
advice and help is key.
"Risk is a necessary evil. We often experience the most
growth in the times that we take risks and feel the most
vulnerable," she said. "I believe that 32 years of running a
successful business qualifies me to say that I don't know
everything, and I need to continue to learn and grow if I
want our team and company to be successful."

D&B CONSTRUCTION
Drew Bell, vice president of D&B Construction of
Sinking Spring, believes everything D&B achieves always
comes down to a team effort.
"We have a familial culture here that provides an
atmosphere of inclusion and transparency," he said. "When
you know everyone is being held accountable, it's easy to get
your job done and done right. When there's no doubt your
colleagues have your back there's nothing keeping you from
reaching your true potential as a business."

Bell personally measures
business success this year by
the resilience and retainage
D&B experienced with both
projects and team members.
And he believes growth
continues at D&B because
of a commitment to staying
on a path that focuses on the
company's core vision, values,
and goals, no matter what
challenges come along, Bell
confirms.

"You can put your head in
the sand, or you can put your head down and push
forward. We always choose to push forward toward
our goals." - Drew Bell
When it comes to making tough decisions, Bell advises
anyone in business to seek the counsel of valued people
who can help discuss solutions and guide thought processes,
and eventually gather all the information available to make
the best choice.
"Go with the decision that gives you the most peace and
put the first step forward," Bell said. "Keep grinding; hard
work got you to the point and hard work will continue to
push you forward."
