FEATURES
allow the company to be more flexible and continue
making strides with less frustration, Breyer explained.

Although some aspects of Riverview continued to
function, the Garden & Gifts store was closed for six weeks.

"Keeping our team together, adapting to meet their
unique needs, and improving the work/life balance
while maintaining client satisfaction rates is a "big
win" for me personally." - Matt Breyer

Salks credits her daughters for developing an online
store so that aspect of her business could continue with
contactless orders and purchase pickup. By May, Riverview
was permitted to open an outside register, again supported
by staff and customers alike.

And adhering to those known strengths built the
foundation for additional growth opportunities as clients
increasingly focus on improving their homes and outdoor
living areas.

Focusing on the basics summarizes Salks' keys to business
success for any company. She said, "My advice would be
for others to hire the best staff, treat staff and clients with
respect, provide a quality product,
and appreciate all of your blessings."

Keeping the big picture in mind for long-term success is
Breyer's advice for other businesses, although he realizes
what works well for one company may not work quite the
same for another.
"There is no perfect path," Breyer said.

"We measure our success
by the fact that we are still
here. This has been such
a challenging year for
everyone. Our hearts ache
for the businesses that are
struggling," said Diane Salks,
president of Riverview Tree
& Landscaping, Inc. and
Riverview Gardens & Gifts in
Temple.
The landscape, property
maintenance, and aquascape
divisions of her company were
considered essential businesses
during this year's business
shutdowns, and Salks expresses her appreciation for her
team members who returned to work and learned the new
safety protocols necessary for operation.

"Our customers also came through showing the
continued trust that they place in us." - Diane Salks

COMFORT PRO, INC.
Despite the frustrations
experienced by many
businesses that were deemed
essential during 2020, Craig
Weisman, president of
Comfort Pro, Inc. in Reading,
believes his technicians,
managers, salespeople,
and office staff rose to the
challenge as they learned
new safety protocols and
continued to service the
HVAC needs of both existing
and new clients.
Weisman said, "I see success
every day when I walk through our office and our shop. I
look around and see what our team has built, literally from
the ground up since 2001."
The ability to look ahead of the curve to foresee industry
trends in order to make the most of a changing market
makes Comfort Pro stand out, Weisman believes, and
having a solid business plan to work out every possible
scenario will give any company the opportunity for success.
But success does not always carry a dollar amount,
Weisman advises other business professionals. Be the leader
in your craft, share the knowledge, educate your customer.

"Have a purpose other than to make money. Small
businesses need to have a niche in the community."
- Craig Weisman
