Wright, FAIA T he past fourteen months have been like no other in recent memory, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Government-ordered lockdowns and recommendations for social distancing have stoked the demand for outdoor options from homeowners and businessowners. Homeowners have sought out residential shade options to expand their outdoor spaces and extend the season for outside living. Restaurants, bars, schools and other venues that serve the public have done the same. These newly-erected canopies, awnings and shade sails are keeping people safe and keeping business doors open.
