were handed over to the Texas
Department of Transportation after the
site development was completed.

Conclusion
Geosynthetics provide an economical
option for mechanical stabilization of subgrades
with unsuitable soils both during
construction and to adhere to long-term
performance requirements. With current
national goals for massive solar expansion,
project teams should consider geosynthetic
stabilization of challenging sites
to reduce required resources for site development
and to keep projects on schedule.
The referenced case studies are only two
of many projects where geosynthetics have
provided an enormous cost savings and
long-term solution for site stabilization.
