The World of Coal Ash 2022
announces new dates
The American Coal Ash Association
(ACAA) and the University of Kentucky
Center for Applied Energy Research
announced the dates for the World of
Coal Ash (WOCA) 2022. The conference
was originally scheduled for May 2021,
but it was delayed due to COVID-19 precautions.
WOCA 2022 will be held May
16-19, 2022, at the Northern Kentucky
Convention Center in Covington,
Kentucky. The WOCA 2022 Short Course
will be held on May 16. For more information,

GSI issues graduate student
fellowships RFP
The Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) has
released a request for proposals (RFP)
for 2021-22 focusing on innovative geosynthetic
research and development
projects. Recipients must be pursuing
a master's or doctoral degree from an
accredited college or university. There
will be several awards given (between
eight and 16 awards), each for $5,000.
Awards are merit-based, and research
must be on topics of interest to the geosynthetics
community. The proposals
must include all the following:
* Letter of recommendation from
the student's department head
or advisor
* Title and detailed abstract
of proposed project
* Student's résumé
* Relevancy of topic to the
geosynthetics community
The deadline for submittal of 2021-22
fellowship proposals is Aug. 23, 2021.
Awards will be announced by the end
of September.

HUESKER Group launches
Fortrac T eco PET recycled
yarn geogrid
The Fortrac T geogrid is now available in
the ecoLine version. HUESKER Group
has succeeded in producing the flexible,
extremely resilient geogrid for reinforced
soil structures from 100% recycled polyester
(PET) yarns. The company had previously
successfully introduced another
product in the ecoLine, HaTelit C eco
asphalt reinforcement, also made from
recycled PET yarns. The yarns used in
ecoLine are 100% PET recycled material. G
