Pvilion, a market leader in fabric structure
technologies, has been awarded a Phase
II, $1.5 million Small Business Innovation
Research contract by the United States
Air Force (USAF) Rapid Sustainment Office
to deliver its rapidly deployable, flexible
Hands-Off Expeditionary Tent, known by
the acronym HEXT. A rapidly deployable
shelter system with defense, industrial and
civilian applications, HEXT was developed
and prototyped for the USAF in support of
additive manufacturing, space operations
and expeditionary forces. Pvilion's advanced
design reduces the labor required to erect and
dismantle buildings, tents and other structural
systems for austere and remote environments.
Alert Management Systems Corp.,
headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo.,
has again been ranked in Colorado's Top
100 Woman-Owned Companies in 2020.
The ranking is compiled and published
annually by Colorado Biz Magazine. Alert
Management Systems is 100 percent
woman-owned by co-president/COO
Mary Crosslin and co-president/CEO Kara
Longmire. Both became the principal owners

materials, from Jagenberg AG. SergeFerrari

The acquisition, for an undisclosed amount,
will strengthen the company's position as
a global leader in tensile architecture and
modular structures and in becoming a key
player in noncombustible solutions.

Davis Michael Richardson of Boyds,
Md., passed away on July 8 after a
brief but valiant ﬁght with melanoma.
Richardson was the founder and
owner of Sugarplum Tent Company,
a leading special events company
in the Washington, D.C., metro area
since 1990. He established Sugarplum
Tent Company with his wife, Barbi. The
company quickly earned a reputation
for excellence, attention to detail,
elegance and personal service.
