IFAI wrapped up IFAI Expo 2021, North
America's largest specialty, industrial and
advanced textiles event, on Nov. 4 at the
Music City Center in Nashville, Tenn. The
event included 218 exhibiting companies and
a total of 3,173 participants. This year marked
the 100th anniversary of IFAI Expo's in-person
show. Next year's event is scheduled for Oct.
12-14, 2022, in Charlotte, N.C.
Camel Expeditionary, a manufacturer of
military tent products, was recently awarded
a new fi ve-year, $50 million contract with the
Defense Logistics Agency. Under the contract,
Camel will produce light maintenance
enclosure structures, primarily for use by the
United States Army. The tents are designed for
all-weather use and typically house military
vehicles, including high mobility multipurpose
wheeled vehicles and M1 Abrams tanks.
Rainier Industries has announced the
promotion of Chris Inverso to CEO. Scott
Campbell, Rainier's long-time CEO, will
continue as an owner and board member.
Rainier also announced its partnership with
Nashville, Tenn.-based investment fi rm LFM
Capital. LFM, a private equity fi rm focused
on U.S.-based manufacturing companies, will
provide guidance and operational support to
grow Rainier Industries.
The Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) recently
collaborated with the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
to revise a handbook on workplace safety
and health information for small business
employers. The Small Business Safety and
Health Handbook highlights the benefits
of implementing an effective safety and
health program and includes self-inspection
checklists for various work processes in
general industry workplaces, such as fire
protection, hazard communication, permitrequired
confined spaces, respiratory
protection and walking-working surfaces.
Herculite Products Inc., a manufacturer of
high performance and custom fabrics, has
promoted Paul Flaherty to chief strategy
officer and Marco Angelone to chief
fi nancial offi cer. Flaherty, who has been
with Herculite for 10 years serving as the
chief fi nancial offi cer, will be responsible
for the development and implementation
of the company's long-range strategic
initiatives. Angelone, who has been with
the company for two years as controller,
will fi ll Flaherty's vacancy.
Matt Gaffin has been named Point of
Rental's Director of Development. Gaffin
is one of the original members of Point of
Rental's Essentials team, and helped to
build what was then called Point of Rental
Cloud. In 2019, he was named the leader of
the company's mobile development team
and helped to develop a framework that
would unite the company's products in one
mobile platform. In the new position, Gaffi n
will continue to work in the mobile realm as
well as across all of Point of Rental's cloudaccessed
tools.
In memoriam: Wayne M. Yonce, 77, of
Champaign, Ill., died in Aug. 2021, after a
long and courageous battle with Parkinson's
disease with dementia. Yonce owned and
operated Twin City Tent and Awning for
more than 50 years until his retirement in
2018. He was considered a pioneer in the
industrial fabrics industry and was a board
member and an honored life member of the
Industrial Fabrics Association International.
