T

he project was a full trim-out of
a new 12-meter alloy offshore
pontoon boat. This included a
complete hull lining (wall, floor and
ceiling carpeting in main cabin and
dash area, inside bunk cabin bins and
galley bins), removable vinyl-covered
roof panels, custom seating and bunk
squabs with a rolled-front edge, and a
custom-templated, CNC-cut molded
deck covering. The client wanted the
walls and roof lined so that no alloy
could be seen and removable roof
panels for easy access to electrical
wiring. Challenges included creating

custom seating, bunks and fitting out
the main cabin in a style that matched
a photo sent by the client. Another
was creating patterns for the stern,
duckboard, bow and roof, sending
them to the supplier for scanning
and CNC cutting, and then installing
the soft cell matting to all areas. The
entire project was completed offsite,
which meant making a lot of accurate
templates and patterns in order for the
panels, seating and deck covering to fit
perfectly when installed.
