Bally Ribbon introduces film infusion

Milliken launches textiles website

Thrace LINQ completes expansion

Bally Ribbon Mills (BRM) is introducing film
infusion capabilities for 3D woven joints.
During the film infusion process, a frozen
sheet or film of resin is infused onto the
custom 3D woven joint, saving customers the
trouble of infusing the resin. BRM's advanced
products group has developed technologies
to fabricate 3D woven structures such as "Pi
- π," double "T," "H," and other complex net
shapes. BRM uses the film infusion process
to infuse a variety of resins to these complex
3D woven shapes.

Milliken has launched textiles.milliken.com,
unifying the manufacturer's diverse textiles
portfolio. Under the overarching performance
and protective textiles division, Milliken
serves a range of industries, including apparel,
building and infrastructure, hospitality and
military. The website presents the Milliken
textiles portfolio in a customer-centric manner,
refines the division's marketplace presence and
highlights the extensive history of Milliken
textiles. Customers may navigate by market
or search key performance characteristics to
find solutions that best fit their needs.

Thrace LINQ has completed the installation
of a new Andritz® needlepunch nonwoven
line. The Thrace Group invested more than
$9 million in the project to satisfy the growing
demand for its high-performance nonwoven
fabrics in North America. The state-of-theart needlepunch nonwoven line is designed
to produce world-class quality fabrics for
geosynthetics, automotive and floor covering
markets. An in-line tenter oven and calender,
along with finished-width capability beyond
20 feet, are just a few of the features the
equipment offers.

Polartec commits to sustainability

Unifi Asia Pacific partners with Kipas

Polartec has introduced its Eco-Engineering™
initiative to use recycled and biodegradable
materials across its entire product line.
Polartec will partner with Unifi and Intrinsic
Advanced Materials, industry leaders in
sustainable textiles: The collaboration
combines Intrinsic's CiCLO® technology
with Unifi's yarn products to promote
biodegradation of polyester and nylon, as well
as applications in polyurethane, in seawater
and landfill conditions. The goal is to create
fully recycled and biodegradable fleeces and
breathable waterproof membranes and other
knits and insulation fills.

Unifi Asia Pacific Company Limited (UAP)
has entered into a strategic commercial
agreement with Kipas Mensucat Isletmeleri
A.S. to supply REPREVE® staple fibers in
the Republic of Turkey. UAP and Kipas will
leverage the supply infrastructure in Turkey to
provide quality, service, speed-to-market and
REPREVE-based staple fiber offerings to fabric
mills as well as brand and retail partners. The
agreement will provide customers in Turkey
with rapid access to REPREVE spun yarns by
utilizing Kipas' advanced capabilities.

Eastman partners with C.L.A.S.S.
Global specialty materials provider Eastman,
maker of the sustainably sourced Naia™
cellulosic yarn, is partnering with Milanbased C.L.A.S.S. (Creativity Lifestyle And
Sustainable Synergy) in the wake of Première
Vision Paris, the international apparel textile
exposition where Naia showcased more than
100 new on-trend fabrics from more than
20 partner mills. The collaboration will
support the fashion industry's shift toward
the "circular economy," the economic model
characterized as a collective awareness of
social and environmental values throughout
the fashion ecosystem.

Polyfab announces Prop 65 compliance
Polyfab has announced that the following
products do not contain any of the chemicals
in the list of Prop 65 possible carcinogens:
Polytex®, Polyshield®, Comtex®, Solarpro®,
Architec 400®, FR Comshade® and Comshade
Xtra®. Proposition 65 is a California law that
protects drinking water sources from toxic
substances that may cause cancer and birth
defects and reduces or eliminates exposures
to those chemicals generally. In 2018, the
requirements to label warnings per Prop 65
were increased.

Roland DGA offers wrap workshops
Roland DGA continues to offer hands-on
born-to-wrap workshops. The expanded
2019 schedule is the most extensive to date,
with classes offered in locations from coast to
coast. In addition to its comprehensive twoday basics and "beyond wrap" workshops,
Roland DGA also offers specialized four-hour
skills training and free three-hour "inside the
wrap" shop classes, to be held in conjunction
with many of the NBM Shows taking place

Crown Point acquires Be Seated
Crown Point Enterprises Inc., operating as All
Occasions Party Rental and Marbella Event
Furniture & Décor Rental, with locations in
Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Columbus, has
acquired the assets of Be Seated in Akron,
Ohio. The acquisition supports Crown Point's
strategy, as the company expands its reach
in the North East region of the U.S. The
purchase will provide the company with
additional inventory and staffing capabilities
that will allow Crown Point to strengthen its
brand throughout Ohio.
