Americhem debuts new website

Kelheim Fibres achieves low risk in audit

Americhem, a designer and manufacturer
of custom color masterbatch, functional
additives, engineered compounds and
performance technologies, has released a
new website that aligns with its brand and
global competencies. The new website,
www.americhem.com, provides customers
with a smooth and cohesive digital
experience. Streamlined to find product and
service offerings from all of Americhem's
business units, the website guides users to
recommended polymeric solutions in fibers,
automotive, health care, packaging and many
more industries.

Environmental not-for-profit organization
Canopy, third-party auditor NEPCon,
and Kelheim Fibres released the results of
Kelheim's CanopyStyle Audit. The company's
current supply chain is confirmed as low
risk of sourcing wood from ancient and
endangered forests or other controversial
sources. This audit, which reflects a snapshot
in time, is to be conducted annually to ensure
that the company continues to meet the
expectations of the CanopyStyle initiative.

Ascend to purchase businesses
Ascend Performance Materials, the largest fully
integrated producer of polyamide 66 resin, has
signed an agreement to purchase Poliblend and
Esseti Plast GD from D'Ottavio Group. The
acquisition includes a manufacturing facility
in Mozzate, Italy, the masterbatch portfolio of
Esseti Plast GD and the engineering plastics
portfolio of Poliblend, which consists of virgin
and recycled grades of PA66, PA6, PBT and
POM. Terms of the transaction were not
disclosed and the acquisition is expected to
close in the second quarter.

Dunlap Industries names award recipient
Tammy Cagle is the recipient of Dunlap
Industries' Above & Beyond award. Each year
a Dunlap Industries employee is recognized
by their peers as the individual who has most
consistently demonstrated the willingness
to satisfy the customer's needs. As a quality
assurance technician, Cagle ensures that
customer orders are produced to meet
internal and customer-specific requirements.
Her 37 years of experience along with her
natural concern for others help her excel at
her job and are reflective of why she received
the recognition.

DuPont launches new program
DuPont has launched a new program,
#TyvekTogether, to increase the overall
availability of Tyvek® personal protective
garments in the company's continued
efforts to help combat the spread of COVID19 and protect health care workers. The
#TyvekTogether Program will introduce a
new specialized Tyvek fabric to enable an
increase in the amount of garment production
for the COVID-19 response to 15 million
garments per month. DuPont has invested
in equipment and technology to significantly
increase its production of Tyvek and Tychem®
garments globally to meet the ever-increasing
demand for personal protection equipment.

Woodward and Hexcel terminate
merger agreement
Woodward Inc. and Hexcel Corp. have mutually agreed to terminate their merger agreement, previously announced on Jan. 12, 2020,
under which the parties had agreed to combine
in an all-stock merger of equals. The termination is in response to the increasing impact on
both the aerospace and industrial sectors, and
global markets broadly, resulting from the
health crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic.

Morbern named one of Canada's
best companies
Morbern began 2020 with being recognized
as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies.
Morbern was one of only 30 companies
across the country to receive the designation.
Nominated during the summer of 2019 and
successfully advancing through two levels
of competition to become a finalist last fall,
the company was the only new finalist in the
Eastern Ontario territory.

Quantum accelerates investment
to expand U.S. production
Quantum Materials, a manufacturer of custom, advanced textiles, is accelerating its
investments in new manufacturing equipment to meet increased demand for domestic
production capabilities. The North Carolinabased company will spend $3.5 million to
further diversify its business with customized state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to support research, development and
manufacturing for nontraditional and highperformance woven textile solutions. The
expansion will support growth in all areas
of business, with an emphasis on expanding
the nontraditional textile segment.
