Electrical Industry Roundtable 2014 - 28
with an underlying theme you think we should be looking at,
driving forward on, researching. Maybe there is something
underlying in the things today that didn't get talked about that
you would like talked about.
BERCIER: We've talked about promoting our industry and our
work force. I would say promoting ourselves in other channels
is some thing we could do. I've referred to this before...if you
look at charging stations for electric vehicles, you have the
Schneider's, Eaton's and other large companies, but some of
the other large players (i.e. Chargepoint) are not using our
channel. We need to promote ourselves to these players as this
will be a huge market in the next 10-15 years from now in at

bring to the table the better. Ultimately, if we can get a North
American group together, I don't think it would be a bad thing.
KERR: What is interesting is if you started that
dialogue, will that allow Canadians to go south of
the border and start picking up branches and
distributors?
CHAMNEY: Yes, that is already happening but as
our standards start to come together and as
every thing consolidates more, it does make sense
that we start sharing best practices with groups to
the south of us and in Mexico and Chile...and still
have our Canadian group.
David Syer.
SENCICH: One of the things we've seen
happening more and more in the last 2-5 years is that
specifi cations for products are no longer being written and
controlled in Canada. Gener ation and control of these
specifi cations has moved to Houston, various parts of Europe,
and other parts of the United States. What that means is that if
