Looking Back and Looking Ahead
Looking back often allows the perspective needed to drive
forward. Since Kerrwil's founding in 1964, we have always
understood the value of perspective and understanding when we
are challenged to be better at what we do.
This special issue of Canadian Electrical Wholesaler will
hopefully challenge thought and prompt action. Our founder Jack
Kerr defi ned Kerrwil' s mandate as serving the industry fi rst. Our
roots go far back, a unique situation from which to ask questions,
challenge the industry, and help it prosper. Consolidation,
globalization, competitive challenges and new technologies:
these changes have made us stronger as we debate our collective
future.
Kerrwil is publishing this issue to bring back to the industry
one of the most anticipated and important catalysts for change,
growth and debate. This industry roundtable issue will be
a continuing element of the content Kerrwil will provide to
the electrical marketers and channel players in Canada. With
support from Rick McCarten, Jim Taggart, Swati Patel, John
Jefkins and Bill Bryans at Electro-Federation Canada, Cana dian
Electrical Wholesaler had the opportunity to engage fi ve industry
leaders. Many, many thanks must go to John Sencich (Thomas
& Betts), David Syer (Sonepar), Murray Chamney (Intralec),
Jean-Sebastien Bercier (DESDOWD) and Steve Branscombe
(Independent Electric) for their input and creative thoughts.
Together this roundtable of industry executives will add to the
debate, foster creative thinking and hopefully challenge all of us
in the industry to think differently.
