careful to clean out any sand - especially in the grooves and the inflation valves. According to Jamie
Small, take off the valve cover and
depress the deflation valve. Spray
water directly into the valve looking
to take all sand and debris out of the
orifice. The escaping air will keep
most of the water from getting into
the tube. The rest will evaporate.
When dry, re-inflate the tubes.
Sun
Sun exposure is really radiation exposure. UV radiation is absorbed at
the same rate for PVC and Hypalon. UV radiation damage is most
commonly seen as photo bleaching.

Air
Running a soft boat puts stress on
the seams and hardware that otherwise would be prevented by the
rigidity of a properly inflated boat.
Keep your boat properly inflated
and it will perform better, use less
fuel and live a longer life. To properly inflate a 3-chamber boat, inflate the rear chambers has hard as
you can with a hand or foot pump.
This will push the bladder wall between the rear and forward chambers forward. Then inflate the
forward chambers - again as hard
as you can.
Be aware that on colder days, the
air will compress, and the tubes will
soften. If you are going to use the
boat, inflate to regain the rigidity.
Sand
Sand can become a problem if it
gets into the seams and other openings of your inflatable boat where
the grains can turn into sandpaper as
the boat moves. Combining under
inflation with sand, will speed up
the wear process. Keeping your boat
clean and free of sand will greatly
extend the life of the boat.
To clean the boat properly, wash
it regularly during the season, being
