calling us to look harder and to thank Him for
the work He is doing in our lives and the lives
around us. "
To mark Human Trafficking Awareness Month
in January, North Star shared on its Instagram
account that " a shocking reality is that the
average age of a trafficked victim is 13 years
old. " North Star also shares on its website
that " many Lancaster County residents are
unaware of the extent of sex trafficking in
our area. " Through speakers and events,
North Star educates the community about
how to recognize trafficking activity
and also maintains partnerships with
national, state and local agencies and
law enforcement to stay informed about
trafficking activity and recruitment
methods.
" Because of their personal experience,
survivors at The Harbor are able to
provide details and insights on how
traffickers target vulnerable women and
young girls and boys, " Corrado says.
For the residents of The Harbor, the LBC|
Capital students and alumnae who have
come alongside them become friends,
mentors and more.
" One of the big things we emphasize at The
Harbor is community, and the students and
alumni at LBC are a part of that, " says Corrado.
" Those who serve alongside us from LBC offer
each survivor friendship and fellowship as
they share how Jesus Christ has impacted
their lives and how He can do the same for
them. We are grateful to have such amazing
role models for each survivor as they walk
out their healing journey. "
