Echo Spring 2021 - 9

NAME: Brenda Crosby ('03)
WHERE I'M FROM: I was born in western Pennsylvania and moved to
Lancaster County in 1987. Previously, I owned and managed a restaurant
in western Pennsylvania and was an administrative assistant at Lancaster
Bible College.
WHERE I LIVE: Lititz, Pennsylvania, with my husband, Bill, whom I've
been married to for 45 years. We have two sons, two daughters-in-love
and five grandchildren, who all live in Lititz.
WHERE I WORK & WHAT I DO: I am a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway
HomeServices Homesale Realty. I help people achieve their real estate
goals, guiding them through the purchasing and selling process of most
likely one of the largest purchases of their lives.
MY EDUCATION AT LBC | CAPITAL: B.S. in Bible/Concentration in
Counseling
HOW MY LBC | CAPITAL EDUCATION PREPARED ME FOR THE WORK
I DO: I believe my degree in counseling from LBC helps me with every
transaction. I become a friend, confidant and sometimes a therapist to
my customers. Some of the most important traits a realtor can have
are being compassionate, communicative, a servant and truly putting
yourself in your client's shoes to help guide them from the initial contact
to handing them keys to their new home. I am told by clients that I
possess these traits, which are a few of my goals, along with the goal of
doing my best every day!
THE BEST PART ABOUT MY JOB IS: I love to meet and help people! Many of my clients are or have become friends; I am
grateful every time someone refers a friend, family member or acquaintance, giving me the opportunity to build another
relationship.
HOW I SERVE MY COMMUNITY: I have been afforded the opportunity to volunteer with various organizations within my
community. One of my favorites, where I have volunteered since it opened over 20 years ago, is Matthew 25 Thrift Shop in
Lititz. As a non-profit charitable thrift (somewhat boutique) shop, Matthew 25 is committed to doing good unto the least of
these and is touching hearts every day. Thanks to the quality donations of our generous community and the work of our
dedicated volunteers, this hidden gem is helping to meet emergency needs of people living throughout Lancaster County.
Matthew 25 has donated over $3 million back into Lancaster County over the past 20 years. I am also involved with the Lititz
Woman's Club and Northern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and have served on numerous committees on the
Lancaster Board of Realtors. My desire is to help make this world better and stronger so we can thrive in our communities!
MY LIFE'S BIBLE VERSE IS: One of my favorite verses is " Do unto others as you would have them do to you " (Luke 6:31). I
was taught by my parents to treat others as I would like to be treated-the very best lesson!
THE LAST BOOK I READ WAS: " Ninja Selling " by Larry Kendall. The Ninja lifestyle is to think big, live simple and make a
difference, while bringing exceptional value to clients. I am also reading " Union With Christ " by Rankin Wilbourne. Wilbourne
shares a biblical and practical perspective on knowing and enjoying God; " to be united with him who is grace and truth,
justice and peace " (page 280). This is a fabulous read! Both books speak much about the importance of discipline, which
requires commitment to continually, repeatedly and habitually show up and get to work, which is a daily decision. Whether
your day begins in prayer, devotions, gratitude, writing notes to clients or exercise, you've rehearsed this so often that you're
able to do it AND have the desire to do so. Every day is a gift-never take anything for granted-be the best you can be!
WHEN I HAVE 30 MINUTES OF FREE TIME, I LIKE TO: Read, watch my backyard birds, garden
MEET MY FAMILY: Husband Bill ('91) graduated from LBC with a B.S. in Bible/Concentration in Pastoral Ministries; Bill Jr. spent
a short semester at LBC, and Brian attended LBC for two years. Our family actually lived in married student housing from
1988-1991-our boys enjoyed the experience, as did Bill and I. LBC holds a special place in my heart!
