THE BEST PART ABOUT MY ROLE AT LBC
IS: Interacting with students, faculty, staff
and Christian workers in the U.S. and other
countries.
HOW MY LBC WORK HELPS ME LIVE OUT
MY FAITH: The ministry here allows me
to fulfill my life goals revealed in Galatians
2:20 " I have been crucified with Christ and
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The
life I now live in the body, I live by faith in
the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me " (NIV) and 2 Corinthians
5:20 " We are ambassadors for Christ. "
HOW MY WORK AT LBC MAKES AN
IMPACT IN MY LIFE: It has been enriching
and rewarding. It keeps my heart tender,
my mind engaged and my service varied.
I do not refer to myself as retired. I prefer
other " re- " words: retreaded, regifted,
repackaged and reengaged.
THE LAST BOOK I READ WAS: " The Gift
of Disillusionment: Enduring Hope for
Leaders After Idealism Fades " by Peter
Greer and Chris Horst
MEET MY FAMILY: My wife, Doris, and
I were married on June 6, 1970. She is
a retired official for field hockey and
lacrosse and current community board
member and volunteer. My son, Andrew,
is a graduate of University of Aberdeen
in Scotland and Cairn. He is married to
Kristine and is a high school history teacher
in New York. They have two daughters,
Kathryn and Emma, and a son, Calvin. My
daughter, Charlotte, is graduate of Cairn
and Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
She teaches English at Cairn and is Chair of
the Humanities Department in the School
of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She is married
to Jamie Gleason, and they have two sons,
Reid and Lewis, and a daughter, Madelyn.
