ix Lancaster Bible College athletic teams opened
their seasons the first week of September, as the
men's and women's cross country, field hockey,
men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball
programs took part in non-conference contests to begin
the year, followed by United East Conference games.
CROSS COUNTRY
The 2021 editions of cross country had successful seasons,
as both the men's and women's teams earned fourth-place
finishes at the United East Conference Championships.
Both programs also fared well at the Charger Invite last
year, which Lancaster Bible will host once again this
season on Sept. 16. The race is open to the public and
will feature several schools from around the area. Jurnee
Acosta ('24) returns for the women's team, while Chase
Reed ('23), Daniel Lefko ('25) and several others return on
the men's side.
FIELD HOCKEY
The field hockey program is set for its fifth year since
returning to Lancaster Bible prior to the 2018 season, and
the Chargers look to build off a 2021 campaign that saw
them win two of their final three games. LBC's leading
scorer, Molly Gray ('25), returns, as does a talented
defensive core. The Chargers will play five straight home
games during the middle of the season, which kicks
off with a night game against Immaculata on Sept. 16.
The third game of the five-game set is scheduled for
Homecoming Saturday, as the Chargers host Southern
Virginia at 6 p.m.
