A Unique Experience
A unique activity that the Alleghany
Highlands has to offer is visiting the
LOVEwork signs throughout the area.
Altogether, there are four LOVEworks with
plans for a fifth display well underway.
The first and most iconic LOVEwork
display is located at Humpback Bridge.
The sign features historic bricks from
the area, a gear from Westvaco, now
WestRock, paper mill, a tree growing along
the creek bank, and railroad ties as a nod
to the area's railroad history.
The LOVEwork sign located on Main
Street in downtown Covington celebrates the
talented workforce, sports culture, community
spirit, and railway heritage of Covington.
Those arriving in the Alleghany
Highlands from the west will have the
opportunity to check out the LOVEwork

Clifton Forge School of Arts
children's painting class
exhibit at the Covington Welcome Center
on I-64. This particular display features
a special " V " that is wrapped in hearts to
celebrate 50 Years of Love.
When visiting The Farm at Blue Spring
Run, located approximately 10 minute south
of Covington, be sure to snap a picture with
their unique LOVEwork sign. Each letter is
a tribute to a different aspect of their farm
and family, from raising bees and crops to
memories of crazy quilts and sidelights from
the cabin built in 1836.
Clifton Forge is currently in the process
of fundraising to install a LOVEwork display
to be located at the Masonic Amphitheater.
Each letter will represent a different facet
of the culture and heritage of Clifton Forge,
including their thriving arts community,
education, and outdoor activities.*
