L'analyse de la concurrence :
pour mieux vous différencier
En réalisant votre étude documentaire, vous allez sûrement identifier des
entreprises qui ont une offre concurrente à la vôtre (si vous ne les aviez pas
déjà identifiées auparavant). La deuxième partie de votre étude de marché
va consister à faire une revue de vos concurrents pour pouvoir, dans un deuxième temps, comparer votre offre à la leur.
L'objectif de cette analyse n'est pas de vous amener à faire comme vos
concurrents (surtout pas !) mais plutôt de regarder ce qui existe pour élargir
le champ des possibles. Cela vous permettra de mieux identifier ce qui différencie votre offre pour faire de vos axes de différenciation des facteurs clés
de succès.
Sur certains marchés matures, les offres tendent toutes à se ressembler pour
finir par n'avoir qu'un axe de différenciation : le prix ! Votre avantage en tant
que nouvel entrant sur votre marché, c'est que vous pouvez l'aborder avec un
regard neuf.
Pour réussir cette étape, il est important de définir la notion de concurrence.
Lorsque l'on parle de concurrents, on pense souvent aux entreprises qui proposent une offre similaire à la nôtre (celles qui proposent le même produit, à
la même cible et s'il s'agit d'une offre de proximité : proches de votre entreprise). Cette notion est celle de la concurrence directe.
Pour réussir votre étude de marché, il est important que vous preniez aussi le
temps d'analyser votre concurrence indirecte : les entreprises qui proposent
un produit différent du vôtre mais qui lui est substituable.
