Le modèle Freemium
Sur Internet, tous les services ne sont pas gratuits. Aussi, au cours de la dernière décennie, on a vu arriver de plus en plus d'acteurs qui proposent un
modèle « Freemium » : ils proposent aux utilisateurs de pouvoir utiliser gratuitement une version basique de leur produit. Cela leur permet d'acquérir et
de fédérer une communauté qui utilise le produit avant de payer pour accéder
à sa version complète.
De nombreux acteurs internet au service des entrepreneurs fonctionnent sur
ce principe. On peut citer notamment l'exemple de Mailchimp. Mailchimp est
un service qui permet d'envoyer des newsletters à ses abonnés. Il séduit de
nombreux créateurs d'entreprise car il est gratuit jusqu'à 2 000 abonnés.
Une fois qu'un entrepreneur voit son entreprise grandir et qu'il voit les bénéfices des services offerts par Mailchimp, il est prêt à investir dans un forfait
payant mensuel.
Ce business model est intéressant. Le fait d'avoir une version gratuite permet
d'agrandir plus rapidement sa communauté d'utilisateurs et de se développer
plus vite.
Il faut néanmoins toujours rester vigilant aux coûts occasionnés par les utilisateurs non payants pour que les bénéfices que l'entreprise va tirer de ce
mode de fonctionnement soient plus importants que les charges qu'elle va
supporter.

Le low cost
Il n'y a pas que dans le secteur de l'Internet que l'on a vu émerger des business
models nouveaux au cours des dernières décennies.
