like? Similar to the old one, the
primary standard of the North
American aftermarket, only much
better and more user-friendly.

VIP is still made up of two key
platforms - the Aftermarket Catalog
Exchange Standard (ACES), describing
the general components of vehicle
applications for in catalogs, and the
Product Information Exchange Standard
(PIES), a deeper dive into the more

specific details of these products. VIP
uses an established consistent language
across both platforms, and all of their
subsequent databases, to communicate
the attributes, brands and qualifiers
of products as they relate to vehicles,
improving business communication.
The new VIP offers single signon, so that users can access all
the information in the consolidated,
synchronized databases from one place
at one time. All of the data is linked
and managed consistently, and the
program's technology is better leveraged
for subscribers to cross-reference
and access the most current available
data and information in real time.

Better data and change management
procedures were implemented to
ensure that subscribers receive the
best and most reliable data available.
Users also now create a profile
within the system, which helps them
communicate better with the database,
and enables them to receive updates
and release notes faster and more
efficiently. The suite is completely
integrated, and is continuously
updated with the most accurate and
complete data available, incorporating
new automotive information as it
hits the market. VIP is accessible
to subscribers 24 hours a day.
