THE Upholstery and Trim International
Council's (UTIC) mission is to educate,
inform, serve and provide networking
opportunities for companies that
manufacture or distribute interior
and exterior fabrics, associated
hardware and products used in the
repair or restoration of cars and
trucks. Its members' product lines
also include adhesives, toppings,
convertible tops, tools and zippers.
Every fall, most of the major
manufacturers, distributors and
jobbers in the upholstery and trim
industry gather at the place to be
for business and networking -
the UTIC Annual Convention.
For its 53rd year, UTIC will host
the convention on Sept. 15-17 at the
Embassy Suites by Hilton in Louisville,
Ky. The convention features highly
productive one-on-one meetings
where vendors meet face-to-face with
wholesalers in private hotel rooms.
These meetings allow attendees
to take advantage of key business
opportunities and build relationships.

meetings online before they arrive at
the convention to ensure they receive

quality time with the exhibitors that they
want to see. This year's convention
also will feature the highly-anticipated
convention raffle, and the exclusive
opening reception and dinner at the
Kentucky Derby Museum with tours
of the historic Churchill Downs.
"We attend the convention because
that's where our customers are," said
Doug McClendon, vice president,
sales and marketing, Morbern USA.
"We also like the one-on-one format.
It's unlike any other trade show."
An annual highlight, Dorsett
Industries will again host its golf
tournament at the 2017 convention,
immediately preceding the opening
of the convention at the Covered
Bridge golf course. New this year,
guests will receive mini-pampering
sessions from a local Louisville salon,
provided by Ardwyn Binding.
UTIC committee members
also meet twice per year at Auto
Care Association Leadership
Days and member companies
