INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND
GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS AT AAPEX

officially signed a memorandum of
understanding (MOU) at AAPEX.
The objective of the signed MOU
between the Auto Care Association
and ARIDRA is for the two parties
to work together towards achieving
common goals, including:
 Fostering and maintaining an
understanding of activities of mutual
interest through attendance at trade
shows, international delegations
and regular communication;

THE Auto Care Association, in
partnership with the International Trade
Administration and the U.S. Commercial
Service, hosted the second annual
International Matchmaking Program at
AAPEX 2017. The initiative is part of an
award the association received from
the U.S. Department of Commerce
to help the automotive aftermarket
industry increase its exports.
The program successfully connected
suppliers at AAPEX with a select
group of international buyers. The
Auto Care Association matched the
participants' buying and product
interests, and scheduled 60 oneon-one meetings on Oct. 31 - Nov. 1
at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.
"What a great opportunity and
matchmaking event at AAPEX this
year. I took a chance and it has paid

off handsomely," said Joseph De
Santino, president, JDS Worldwide
Corp., an Auto Care Association
member. "The company options,
the scheduling and the quality of
companies you brought were on
point. Please count me in next year."
In addition to expanding its
International Matchmaking Program, the
Auto Care Association also formalized
its relationship with the Asociación
Nacional de Representantes,
Importadores y Distribuidores de
Refacciones y Accesorios para
Automóviles, A.C. (ARIDRA), a Mexicobased civil association that integrates
manufacturers, representatives,
importers and distributors of spare
parts and accessories for automobiles.

 Promoting international trade
and investment between
Auto Care Association and
ARIDRA members; and
 Building awareness of each other's
markets through education initiatives.
In addition to establishing global
partnerships among automotive
aftermarket associations, the Auto
Care Association's international
efforts also include trade missions,
with its next mission traveling
to Costa Rica in May 2018.
