HDDA: HEAVY DUTY COMMUNITY
THE HDDA: Heavy Duty community
of the association serves as the
primary source of information and
communications for its growing
community of those with a shared
common interest in the heavy duty
market, spanning the entire supply
chain of the heavy duty industry, not
just distributors. The primary focus
of HDDA: Heavy Duty is business
enhancement through information
transfer, market data and networking
events. HDDA: Heavy Duty offers
its members a series of annual
reports and events that enable its
members to make better business
decisions and increase profits.
According to research in the
2018 State of Auto Care report, the
heavy duty industry is growing at an
estimated rate of $3 billion annually.
With this expansion of the heavy
duty industry, a need for heavy duty
product standards is critical now more
than ever. The HDDA: Heavy Duty
community is leading the program
to create such standards, built on
PIES (Product Information Exchange
Standard), which took years of research
and innovation, as well as forging
partnerships with other freight and
trucking industry organizations.

With this expansion
of the heavy duty
industry, a need for
heavy duty product
standards is critical
now more than ever.
The HDDA-led initiative to develop
heavy duty product standards will
provide revolutionary benefits to the
independent aftermarket supply
chain. By providing a consistent
language for parts information, data
can travel down the supply chain in
a consistent and efficient manner.

HDDA, in partnership with other
industry leaders, brings together
the heavy duty market annually
at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week
(HDAW). HDAW '18 is coming up in
Las Vegas, Jan. 22-25. The HDAW
'18 theme is "People, Partners and
Profits," focusing on the three essential
components of the industry that
make the heavy duty aftermarket
successful. Attendees of HDAW will
have the chance to participate in two
new programs added to the docket
for independent distributors: the
"Hands-on Training Program" and the
"HDAW Reserved Meals Tables."
Josh Linkner, a two-time New
York Times bestselling author, twicenamed Ernst & Young Entrepreneur
of the Year, President Barack Obama
Champions of Change award recipient,
and Founding Partner of Detroit
Venture Partners, is the keynote
speaker for the opening session of
HDAW '18. Linkner's presentation,
"Everyday Innovation: Fueling People,
Partners and Profits," will focus on
how to meet change and competition
with confidence by breaking down
strategic thought processes into small
daily acts. For more information about
HDAW '18, visit www.hdaw.org.
