Have we crossed the finish line yet? With millions now vaccinated and states lifting
their Covid restrictions, hopefully we can get back to a normal life. And for NCC, that
means trying to squeeze in several months of car events into a short period of time.
While we've been able to hold our normal schedule for HPDE, autocross, and tours,
we're excited to announce that we're starting fresh with a new lineup of DIY events,
socials, and the 37th annual Deutsche Marque Concours d'Elegance. This is almost
like our grand re-opening! In addition, now that we can have face-to-face interaction,
we've scheduled our NCC Annual Membership Meeting for Sunday, August 15th at
Smokey Glen Farm and turned it into a huge club picnic! Many of us haven't seen
each other for almost two years, so this is a great way to get out with your car friends
and bring the family along to enjoy some great BBQ, cars, and tons of activities
and prizes!
And speaking of prizes, this year's CCA raffle has started! I'm sure you're
lusting over that grand prize as much as I am, so buy your tickets to ensure you have
a chance to win. NCC has a very proud history of multiple raffle winners throughout
the years, including Rodney A. Fabio III who was featured in our last issue of
der Bayerische. He was one of two NCC winners last year, so maybe this year your
lucky ticket will be drawn.
For those who have saved their vacation time, be assured that we're planning our
favorite big events like our BMW CCA car corral at the IMSA Michelin GT Challenge
at VIR and O'Fest Forever at Hilton Head Island! It'll be good to get back to a race with
spectators and be able to hang out in the paddock, drooling over the cars. It has been
devastating this past year to see races cancelled or with no crowds, so getting to mix
it up with the race teams again is a welcome sight. For those who haven't been to our
VIR corral, this is a great extended weekend to join our party since the race was moved
to a more crowd-pleasing, cooler October date. For O'Fest fans, this is a completely
unique event held in conjunction with the Hilton Head Island Concours and it creates
a brand new all-German marque concours called, The Legends of the Autobahn East.
As a strong East Coast version of Monterey Car Week, this year's O'Fest will be
spectacular, so make your plans to join us for a great week away!
