diagnostics on daily drivers and

for more than half of their business.
RRT's service technicians are
supported by a dedicated in-house
parts manager and parts department
that stocks a wide variety of items
ranging from new batteries to spare
engines, which helps keep the repair
work on schedule. In addition to
stocking quality parts, the technicians
also have state-of-the-art tools and
equipment at their disposal, such
as the Hunter Hawkeye alignment
machine that uses digital cameras for
a perfect alignment, a Hunter Road
Force Balancer and touchless tire
mounter, and even a shock dyno used

dB: What is the origin story of RRT?
Matt: RRT was started by enthusiasts
who realized that club racers were
looking for the same care and
attention to detail that they received
on their racecars to be applied to
their street cars as well. The streetperformance and service and
maintenance work provided the
foundation to keep the race and
fabrication work financially viable in
the long term.
dB: What services does RRT
provide?
Mike: We are a full-service shop for
all BMWs - MOST of the cars we see
are NOT track or racecars, and not
even M-division cars. In addition to
BMW technicians, we have
Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche
technicians on staff. Our service
department backs all their work with a
competitive warranty. We offer our
clients more personal and a higherlevel service than any dealer can.
Our performance and race shop has
years of experience building both
professional and club-level racecars.
We perform almost every service in
house to ensure the highest-quality
control standards possible. We have
all the capabilities that any
manufacturer does in terms of both
tools and diagnostics. Our services

dB: What is your favorite part of your
job at RRT

James: We love hearing from
customers that their car was fixed, that
their car runs better, that they had a
great weekend at the track, and that
they garnered a victory in their race.
No matter what the car is used for,
whether it be daily driving or track
duty, we take pride in the fact that
customers are now both happier and
more confident in the quality of the
service they have received.
dB: What is your favorite customer
car or shop project?
James: We took an E63 M6 from a
street-car
configuration
with
occasional track use to a full-on track
monster. This included a full racelegal cage, an AiM data acquisition
system with SmartyCAM, a Carbahnby-Steve-Dinan 5.7 liter 700+ HP
stroker engine with Dailey dry sump,
a Diffsonline-built differential, a
custom PWR radiator and cooling
system, custom Setrab oil cooling
systems for the engine, transmission,
and differential, Brembo GT-R brakes,
Ohlin's NQ and TTX dampers on
custom spring rates, an Aeromotions
active wing, and a custom headerback full titanium exhaust made inhouse - a turnkey track day car.
Given a fifth generation Camaro
ZL1 half-mile racer, we converted it to
