President'sMessage
I'm so glad this is the final issue of 2020 - I can't wait for this year to end! For
this column, I would usually give a review of the great moments of the year,
but with so many events canceled due to the pandemic, it's a tough chore. We
were able to pull off our three HPDEs at Summit Point, but even those were
slightly different with a new lead-follow format to eliminate in-car instruction.
The Autocross program was not so lucky this year, as our Waldorf location
became unavailable. Luckily, the Washington Circuit at Summit Point was
available to host a few autocross events, but it was a tough year for drivers
accustomed to earning points towards a season championship. We did have
several Tours, Karting events, and ///M Club Day events, since they all lend
themselves to social distancing. While most of our socials and DIY events
were canceled, we were able to organize a number of virtual events that
members enjoyed like our session with James Clay's BimmerWorld team and
Hagerty's "State of the Collector Car Market" webinar. For our club leadership,
I think 2020 will be remembered for the administrative changes we endured,
such as shifting der Bayerische to an online-only format, developing a new
chapter logo, and releasing a new website. Several months of work went into
the planning and implementation, and while the vast majority of our membership never sees the blood, sweat, and tears that go into these changes,
I definitely do. Thanks to all of our volunteers, program chairpeople, and
committee members for making 2020 another successful year for NCC.
We couldn't do it without you!
Lastly, speaking of leadership, every year this chapter elects its club
officers and now is the time to prepare to do so again. We can always use new
blood in NCC and we're always looking for energetic people to run for any of
our elected positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
I've been President for way too long (almost 10 years!) and would love to turn
over the reins to someone way better looking than me (how easy is that
qualification)! Nominations for the elected positions must be received before
the end of the year, so please reach out if you have any questions about the
duties and we'll fill you in. I hope that everyone has a great holiday season
and let's all hurry to 2021!

2021 National Capital Chapter
Officer Nomination Period
Each year, our volunteer-run organization elects the leaders of this great
chapter. Every elected position is up for grabs annually: President, Vice
President, Treasurer, and Secretary. For more information about the officer
positions, please see our chapter bylaws.
To run for an elected position, you must be a CCA member in good
standing and nominate yourself during the Nomination Period which runs
from November 1st to December 31st. Please submit your candidacy
statement to our webmaster at webmaster@nccbmwcca.org so it can be
posted to our website, nccbmwcca.org.
Online voting, if necessary, is expected to start January 1st, 2021;
please see our website for further information.
