was delicious. That's right - breakfast
and lunch. How the time flew!
Accompanying lunch there was a
beer and wine tasting which featured
a dry Riesling, a California
Pinot Noir, a French Loire Valley
red, and a Belgian-style ale from
Quebec. Lashdeep and NCC
members discussed the different
offerings while enjoying the
surrounding automotive-focused
backdrop.
My drive home was thankfully

motorcycle in the facility and speaking
to its history. My personal
favorite was the Pantera - what a
piece of rolling artwork! Upon completion
of the tour, Paul singled out
a few NCC members and suggested
we have our own " show and share. "
Vu Nguyen started with his '83
320is. Vu wasn't the only multiclub
PCA/CCA member present (I'm
looking at you, Steve Pera). Vu
found this 320is in New York and
purchased it from the original
owner. He has taken exceptional
care of this classic and travels
around with a number of 1980s
period correct items, or " easter
eggs " as Vu calls them. This
includes a Teddy Ruxpin, some
Yonex tennis racquets, a portable
(I use that term loosely) BMW
phone, and more.
Graham Bouton spoke about
his imported 1985 528i. This is the
same car that was on Motorweek
which was covered in the JanuaryFebruary
2021 issue dB. It has a
number of M-treatments, and
among my favorite features are the
headlight wipers - things that
weren't available on US-spec cars.

Moving onto something more
modern, Doug Verner talked about
his 2020 M2 CS. Doug purchased
28
derBayerische
this M2 CS locally; it is one of 400
sold in the US. It's a very special
car and Doug said it's likely to be
one of the next big collector cars,
such as the 1M, though that's not
the reason he bought it. It does
share some componentry with the
car parked in front of it, an M4
GTS, whose owner was the next
presenter.
Steve Tenney shared his 2016
M4 GTS with the group. He relayed
a story about switching the suspension
from the delivered track-spec
to the higher road-spec, which is
the way the car was developed and

tested on the Nurburgring. Two of
my favorite features are the 666M
wheels and factory-installed jungle
gym - I mean roll bar.
I book-ended the show-andshare
session, shifting back to
1980s design and talking about my
'91 318is - the car that delivered me
to this part of the event under its
own power, thanks to the helping
hands of fellow club members.
Teamwork makes the dream work,
right?
To wrap up the event, lunch
was ordered and served. There was
a nice spread of pizza and tacos
uneventful. After some investigation
with a multimeter and removing
some components from the
alternator I did find the culprit - a
worn alternator voltage regulator.
$30 later and my 318is is again
fully operational. James Laws - you
were correct!

Thanks to Lashdeep for inviting our
club into his fantastic space and
sharing the collection of automotive
rarities. Perhaps this will become
an annual event, but you'll have to
keep your eyes on the NCC
calendar to experience this for
yourselves, as all that attended this
time have been sworn to secrecy.
