We finally made it to the end of another incredible year, and this
could very well be the biggest in NCC's history. Including
events scheduled for November and December, we are on pace
to run more than 140 event days this year. By my unofficial
count, this would make it a record-breaking year. Think about it
this way, we average an event almost every 2-3 days. That's the
true testament to being a volunteer-run club; our program heads
and committee members have truly outdone themselves this
year. NCC has always been the largest and most active chapter
in the US by far; it's not even close. But 140+ event days are
truly outstanding and a tremendous value for our membership.
A big thanks to all of our volunteers, who put in a ginormous
amount of time and effort to make sure we all have fun.
And even if it's getting colder by the day and winter is
setting in, we still have plenty of events scheduled over the
next few months. Our super informal monthly meetups will
continue and they are a great way for all members to come hang
out with fellow BMW enthusiasts. Scattered throughout the
DMV, all of our socials are well attended, and we hope to see
some new faces. They are all scheduled on the same day of
each month, so it's easy to remember; all you have to do is add
them to your calendar and show up.
Finally, while this has been a record year for this club, we're
always looking for more volunteers to lead our chapter and run
our programs. All four club officer positions are up for grabs
every year: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
Strong leaders are always needed, so please reach out to me
if you have any questions about what it takes to succeed.
During the off-season, our volunteers will be planning events
for next year and it's the perfect opportunity to insert yourself
into the process. We have, by far, the best group of people to
have fun with, and I'm constantly in awe of how each program
works to be the best. We've been very lucky to have many
strong volunteers over the years, and we love what we do.
We're drawn together by the cars, but we stay for the people.
And you won't find a better, more genuine group of people than
those at NCC.
