MiX Weekend in South Carolina By Joanne Kalogerakos | Photos by Valerie Caprigno I didn't know what to expect at Bimmerlife MiX weekend at the Greer, SC BMW Performance Driving Center and CCA Headquarters, but I was pleasantly surprised by all the events and people we met (in addition to falling in love with the cars!) We started the trip with a drive down consisting of a group of local Bimmer enthusiasts which was an adventure. It was so well organized and the X Chapter president Valerie Capirigno was great at making sure everyone felt at home and took into consideration great eating establishments and places to stop that were clean and convenient. She made sure everyone knew the plan and arrived ready to have fun, and that a scenic route had been chosen. Once at the Performance Driving Center, I had a blast at the track events even as a first-time driver. The competitive drivers loved the time trials. The instructors at the performance center made sure we 24 ■ Paul Seto, NCC President, at a lunch break during the caravan at East of Texas in Winston-Salem, N.C. had a great time in all the events. A visit to Thunder Bunny Racing gave us an opportunity to see the " insides " of race cars one would normally not have an opportunity to see. Saturday's BMW CCA Cars and Coffee show was an opportunity for members to parade their own vehicle in front of their fellow enthusiasts and have fun talking about cars. It was a beautiful day to chat and obtain some goodies from the many vendors on site. We were able to get together later that day at a wine tasting in a beautiful mountainside setting where we could relax and enjoy some refreshments. It was a busy and fun weekend of socializing, networking, and new experiences. I can't wait to do it again next year! Joanne Kalogerakos joanne.kalo@gmail.com derBayerische
