We are open for business! If you haven't checked our calendar lately, you've really
missed some good stuff. We've started our monthly socials at some new places, had
several autocross/track events, and Passport BMW opened up their doors to help
welcome new CCA members. But don't worry because we still have a ton of things to
do in the Fall when the cooler weather hits. You don't want to miss our participation
in the 37th Annual Deutsche Marque Concours d'Elegance held at Occoquan Regional
Park in Lorton, VA or the Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show in Rockville, MD.
These are both events for which you can enter your BMW to be judged, or you can just
come out and enjoy all the automotive scenery.
Quite possibly the most anticipated event coming up is our Oktoberfest celebration
at Passport BMW. This is a HUGE gathering specifically for us and if you've
attended in the past, you know how cool the previous events have been: fully
catered German food and drinks (beer, perhaps?), a live oompah band, and BMWs
everywhere! This free event is open to all CCA members, and we really need a great
turnout! So, dust off the lederhosen and let's have some fun!
And speaking of Oktoberfest, have you signed up for O'Fest Forever yet?
I'm super pumped that the event this year will be held in conjunction with the famous
Hilton Head Concours. There will be some incredibly rare, high-value vehicles on
display, and we have several days planned to celebrate everything BMW. Hilton Head
is only a few hours away, so plan your short vacation for early November to explore
this great area and meet other CCA members from across the country.
Our biggest event coming up is our BMW CCA car corral at VIR for the Michelin
GT Challenge. This is my absolute favorite local professional race to attend since it's
only a few hours away. If you've never been, I guarantee you'll have a ball. We'll have
coverage of the event in a future edition of der Bayerische, but there's nothing that
beats being there in person. Our corral will be filled with tons of BMWs, and our
hospitality tent provides you with a homebase to enjoy the weekend. It's where we
hang out for our catered meals, watch the live TV broadcast, and give out a ton of giveaways
from sponsors such as hot laps from the BMW Performance Center, free tires
from Michelin, and a free HPDE weekend courtesy of the NCC & Tarheel chapters.
VIR is easily one of the best tracks in the world and we'll have special access to the
paddock area to visit all the BMW race teams before each race. Don't miss out on this
epic event; you'll thank me later.
Finally, if all of this is overwhelming, don't worry, we don't bite. One of the
easiest ways to get involved with us is to come out to one of our socials. Located
throughout the DMV area, at our socials all we do is hang out with our rides, grab
food/drink, and talk cars! Not much to it, so check the calendar and join us!
You'll find we all have similar interests especially since our BMWs are what draws us
together. However, this club is really more about the people, and we welcome all
BMW fans with open arms.
