CHAPTER NEWS
District 6
Gold Coast Chapter 456, Manhasset, N.Y.
The chapter celebrated Chapter President John G. Levas' 30-years of membership, including 18
years as Chapter 456's president, at its year-end meeting at the Swan Club, Roslyn, N.Y., June 12,
2019. Earlier this year, Brother Levas informed the chapter that he would be relocating to North
Carolina. Although the brothers knew Brother Levas would not return as president, there wasn't
a dry eye in the house when he was nominated for the office of president, and his response
was, "I respectfully decline." Levas also has served as District Treasurer and District Secretary.
Among the dignitaries present were: Supreme Vice President Jimmy Kokotas, then-Supreme
Governor George Karatzia, and Past Supreme President Andrew C. Zachariades.
Hudson Odysseus Chapter 545, Middletown, N.Y.
The chapter enters its second year moving forward by growing membership
and raising funds for the Greek School at the Middletown Holy Cross Greek
Orthodox Church. The chapter's goal is to raise enough funds to cover the cost
of Greek School tuition for the students with the intent to increase enrollment.
The chapter is proud it was able to present the Greek School with an initial
donation toward achieving this goal.
District 7
Rose of New England Chapter 110, Norwich, Conn.
The chapter hosted its 40th Annual AHEPA Sunday at the Holy Trinity
Greek Orthodox Church, May 19, 2019. Twenty-two Ahepans attended the
memorial service officiated by Father Panteloukas for all the brothers who
have departed since 1926. Brother Larry Wyland prepared the Koliva and
Daughters of Penelope Member Heidi Petros prepared the Five Loaves of
Bread. After the service, the chapter hosted the coffee hour with refreshments
prepared by Brother Ernie Pool.
District 8
Hellas Chapter 102, Lowell, Mass.
Brothers George Behrakis, Andrew Zaroulis, and Ray Hamel supported
the Lowell Boys & Girls Club through its golf tournament. They are involved
actively as benefactors and trustees. In addition to serving more than 400
underprivileged youth during the school year, the Club also provides
all-day programs for seven weeks during the summer. Pictured are (l-r):
