Goals

Supporting Organizations
that Promote Mental
Health, Females in Tech

I am honored to serve as Sons of Pericles Supreme President.
Entering its 94th year, the Sons of Pericles has an established
history of relevance in our communities. My goal this year is
to lead the Sons from relevance to prominence - to ensure the
Sons, along with the Maids of Athena, are entrenched at the
forefront of the Hellenic community and reinforce our position as the oldest and largest organization for young Hellenes
and philhellenes.
Growing membership is necessary to this goal, but I stress
that membership growth is a product of the community value
that we create; a means to an end where we act as a catalyst
for positive impact on members and the general public alike.
With that in mind, the Sons has set ambitious but attainable
goals which are designed to increase the benefits of membership
and enhance our community contributions. These goals are highlighted by our central principles:
Heritage, Service, Brotherhood.
Heritage: We have established a
Cultural Committee to promote historical education, support cultural
events, and strengthen our synergistic relationship with the Orthodox Church. The centerpiece
of the committee is the recognition of the Greek Genocide of
1914-1923.
Service: We are proud to announce we have met our
$15,000 goal to sponsor our "Pericles" Service Dog. We will
continue our philanthropic efforts with our new National
Project, the JED Foundation, which provides mental health
resources and promotes mental wellness.
Brotherhood: We have year-round regional athletics and
socials planned. Additionally, our new "Rising Sons" program
places members on national committees to develop leadership skills and implement our current goals. Participants will
attend a leadership conference to serve a local community
and adopt strategies to ensure the Order's success.

strengthening the mutually beneficial relationship between
the AHEPA and the Sons.

I am humbled and honored to address the AHEPA family as
Maids of Athena Grand President. Congratulations to Supreme
President George Horiates, Grand President Celia Kachmarski,
Supreme President Paul Pavlakos, and their respective lodges,
on their elections. The Maids of Athena Grand Lodge looks forward to continued collaboration and growth between all four
orders of the AHEPA family.
The newly elected Maids of
Athena Grand Lodge consists of:
Grand Vice President Maria Ana
Pantelous, Cherry Hill, N.J.; Grand
Secretary Kyra Vidas, Chicago;
Supreme Treasurer Maria Kanatas, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and
Grand Governor Rigo Nasopoulos,
Brooklyn, N.Y. Throughout the upcoming year, the Grand Lodge will
focus its efforts on membership retention and growth, as well
as our philanthropic efforts. The Grand Lodge will work diligently to achieve new heights for the organization through its
determination, dedication, and enthusiasm for the Order.
Moreover, the Maids of Athena, alongside the Sons of Pericles, are committed to raise money for the JED Foundation,
an organization that promotes mental health among young
adults during transitory years, as a joint National Project. We
will also fundraise for Girls Who Code, which I have selected
for my President's Project. Girls Who Code is an organization
that aims to close the gender gap in technology and to change
the image of what a programmer looks like and does while
building the largest pipeline of future female engineers.
Lastly, the Maids of Athena Grand Lodge has selected EMPOWER. INVOLVE. EDUCATE. as its theme. By embodying
the ideas of Empowerment, Involvement, and Education, the
Maids of Athena Grand Lodge will strive to promote education,
civic responsibility, Hellenism, and community service, while
working alongside the rest of the AHEPA family.

eager to assist. On behalf of the Grand Lodge, I extend our best
wishes for a successful year!
