AMC Announces New
Hires

Service Coordinator Bemont at
Norwich Property Retires

Doug Shuck joined AHEPA Management
Company as vice president of Operations in
May 2020, bringing more than thirty years of
experience in health care and senior housing
administration. In addition to serving as Health
Facility administrator and in regional-level assignments during his career, Doug served more than
eight years as vice president of Operations for a
national nursing home company based on Aliso
Viejo, California. Doug's experience includes
service lines comprised of assisted living, independent living, post-acute rehabilitation services
and long-term care. Doug served several years on
the Board of Directors for the Indiana Health Care
Association, including two years as its chairman
of the Board.
Doug is licensed as a Health Facility
Administrator by the state of Indiana and
holds an MBA with a specialty in Health Care
Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Doug, and his wife, Nancy, reside in Anderson,
Indiana. They have six grandchildren.
Doug stated, "I am very excited to join the
AHEPA family. I look forward to working with
AHEPA leadership and our employees to carry
out the AHEPA mission for
our residents and the communities we serve."
Latangia Sargent is the
new Human Resources
coordinator. She has a
Bachelor of Arts in Human
Resources from Marian
Latangia Sargent
University. She has nine
years of human resources experience.
She was born and raised in Indianapolis.
Latangia is married with children from ages three
to 19 years old. She loves to travel and spend time
with her family. She is avid about art, music, and
chocolate.
"I am happy to be here at AHEPA and very
excited to grow with the company," Latangia said.

Kathy Bemont is retiring after more
than 16 years as a service coordinator
to the residents of AHEPA 110 I & II,
Norwich, Conn. AHEPA National Housing
Corporation Executive Board Member
Dr. John Grossomanides, PSP, presented
Kathy a clock with a plaque on it from the
Norwich AHEPA 110 Housing Corporation
during a gathering in her honor on her last
day, July 2, 2020. Board Members John
Louziotis and Tony Petros, and Managers
Miranda Poore and Michelle Hopkins,
were also present.
"Kathy has been a valuable member of
the Service Coordination team," Dr. Grossomanides said. "She always shared
a wealth of information, an encouraging word, a caring spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor. Kathy will be missed."

Indiana Residents Enjoy Delicious
Meals
AHEPA 100 Board President Panos Niarchos
In response to COVID-19, complimentary meals were provided to the
residents of Penelope 60 Apartments, Mishawaka, Ind., and AHEPA 100
Apartments, South Bend, Ind.,
thanks to the initiative of Penelope
60's Property Manager Allison
Smith and Service Coordinator
Jennifer Parks. They worked with
Heartland Hospice and The Skillet
Restaurant and Catering, a South
Bend eatery, to provide the free
meals to the residents.
"We are proud of Allison's and
Jen's initiative," AHEPA 100 Board
President Panos Niarchos said.
"It shows leadership, care, great
teamwork, and concern for our residents. It also demonstrates that in a time
of need, local businesses pitch-in and help. We appreciate the generosity of
The Skillet Restaurant."
