Taking Care of One Another Is Paramount Now
more than Ever
Our theme last year, "Together We are Stronger. Together We Thrive." is most relevant this year
because together we will move past this pandemic and be stronger for it. We must take care of ourselves before we can take care of our families, and we must take care of our Daughters of Penelope.
In fact, we have adopted "Take Care" as a slogan to compliment our theme from last year.

Our 90th anniversary celebration highlighted our accomplishments over nine decades and giving
up because of a global pandemic was not on the program or agenda. Alexandra wanted an organization of strong women. Strong women do not slow down. Strong women do not give up. Strong
women carry on and do what needs to be done.
It was not my intent but is indeed my honor to serve as Grand President for another year along with
the Grand Lodge officers. Together, we will continue and complete the journey we began last year
when we were elected in Chicago. The Daughters of Penelope taught me so much about commitment, hard work, giving back, and paying it forward.
Our founder had a vision that is still clear today, a vision that joined women who would dedicate
themselves to cultivate our mission of philanthropy, education, civic responsibility, Hellenism, and
personal excellence. We will strive to continue that vision and move it forward through motivating,
celebrating, educating, and connecting with sisters and women who can join us in our mission.
The Daughters of Penelope functions as a team. Our team begins with our amazing members, members who stepped-up to the plate when COVID-19 hit. Our members were up to the challenge of
finding creative ways to stay connected with sisters. Once we learned the word "Zoom" and how it
could be an effective communication vehicle, we grabbed it and ran with it. Our membership held
meetings and conventions throughout the summer and embraced Zoom wholeheartedly. This did
not mean we forgot about those who were not able to connect. We called, dropped by, and wrote
messages. A family takes care of its members. This was a new phenomenon for us, but I believe our
leaders and members at all levels did an outstanding job.
I congratulate Supreme President George Horiates, Grand President Theodora Ronstadt, and newly
elected Sons of Pericles Supreme President Tim Noitsis and their lodges. As a family we will challenge each other, we will support each other, and we pledge to work together.
