AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
Constantine Cassis Chapter 170, Hempstead, N.Y.
In December, the chapter held an initiation ceremony. Through the membership recruitment efforts of the executive officers and the brotherhood,
led by Chapter President Anastasi Stampolis, the chapter's increased its
membership roll by 30 men.

AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter 170 reactivated SOP Lord Byron Chapter
233 in December. SOP Supreme Secretary Chris Tavantzis officiated over the
reactivation of the chapter, which has 11 members. AHEPA Brother Alex
Orphanos, who was a two-time SOP Chapter President in Boston, and a Past
District 8 Lt. Governor, has been appointed Chapter 233's advisor.

Brothers met with His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Geron of America, upon His
Eminence's Archpastoral visit to Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Church, Troy, Nov. 19, 2017.
Chapter President Tom Suraci addressed the community as part of the historic occasion.
James Plevritis-Joseph C. Keane Evzone Chapter 405, New Rochelle, N.Y.
The chapter held its 15th Annual Initiation and Luncheon at the Westchester Country Club, Rye, N.Y., Dec. 2, 2017. The chapter
honored its Man of the Year, Dr. Nicholas Romas, with its Lifetime Achievement Award. The award highlighted his dedication
to his profession, service to humanity and guidance and care
for his fellow Ahepans. Dr. Romas is a professor of Urology at
Columbia University Medical Center. U.S. News & World Report
recognized him as one of America's top Urological Physicians.
Dr. Romas also served as a major in the United States Air
Force. His family includes his wife, Serene, three daughters,
Stavra, Eva and Pamela; and ten grandchildren. Among
the 200 persons in attendance included: Keynote Speaker
Supreme President Carl R. Hollister, Supreme Secretary Jimmy
Kokotas, Supreme Governor Tom Dushas, National Board of
Trustees Member and PSG Elias Tsekerides, District 6 Lodge
officers, and eight chapter presidents.
