repairs, new windows, countertops,
cabinets, flooring, paint, office furniture, corridor lighting, corridor carpeting, new flooring in the community
room, office, lobby and vestibule, a
new extended and lit outdoor canopy
with Greek columns, a walkway to the
garden, new security camera system,
parking lot updates, and a moveable
cart/countertop in community room.
Additionally, six of the units were
brought into full American Disabilities
Act compliance while those residents
were temporarily housed off-site.
Constructed in 1991, AHEPA 192
has 60 units. The property manager is
Heather Johnson and the maintenance
engineer is Mike Fontana. The general contractor for the renovations and
remodeling was Ball Team.

Supreme President Horiates Visits AHEPA 489 Apartments
During his visit to Florida for Epiphany
celebrations, Supreme President George G.
Horiates visited AHEPA 489 Apartments, an
affordable housing for the elderly independent living facility for low-income elderly
located in New Port Richey, Fla., Jan. 5,2020.
The AHEPA 489 Board hosted an "Open
House" for the AHEPA Supreme Lodge,
Daughters of Penelope Grand Lodge, and
AHEPA family members visiting the area
for Epiphany. Pasco County Commissioner
Jack Mariano, and his daughter, Florida
State Representative Amber Mariano, also
attended. Supreme President Horiates made
Commissioner Mariano an Ahepan "on the
spot." Brother Jimmy Makris is president
of the AHEPA 489 Board and serves on the
Executive Board of the AHEPA National
Housing Corporation.
