District 20
AHEPA Chapter 243, Santa Barbara, Calif.
The chapter is proud of Brother Alex Haimanis, who has served the chapter for nearly
50 years, for lifelong dedication to helping people in many locations around the world.
During the last forty years, his Mission Luncheons have benefited orphanages in India,
Albania, Guatemala, and Mexico. A conversation with a priest from Korea led to the shipment of a ton of needed children's clothes, and a similar amount was sent to Romania after
the fall of communism. Having served on the board of the Orthodox Christian Mission
Center for ten years, his Agape Canister Program has raised more than $3 million for
schools in Greece, Africa, Albania, and Kenya. Furthermore, he persuaded a good friend to donate the money necessary to build Saint
Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Kazinga, Tanzania, outside of Bukoba and within sight of Lake Victoria.

AHEPA Chapters 212, Stockton and 246,
Modesto, Calif.
The chapters hosted Supreme President George G. Horiates for
a visitation in December 2019. Past Supreme President Andrew
T. Banis, Past Supreme Treasurer George Booras, and District
21 Governor Alex Mallas were on-hand to greet the Supreme
President.
The brothers from the two chapters were excited to welcome
Supreme President George G. Horiates during his West Coast visitation in December 2019.

Silicon Valley Chapter 251, San Jose, Calif.
The AHEPA family of Sacramento appreciated the opportunity
to host Supreme President George G. Horiates for a visitation in
December 2019. District 21 Governor Alex Mallas helped to organize the gathering. Past Grand President Jan Spanos attended.
The brothers were excited to host Supreme President George G.
Horiates on the festive occasion of its AHEPA family Christmas
dinner in December 2019.
