AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
District 3
Robert E. Lee Chapter 122, Norfolk, Va.
The 2013-14 year has been one filled with philanthropic activity. In
November, the chapter held a Thanksgiving Luncheon in honor of the
Golden Years Club, a ministry of the Annunciation Cathedral's Orthodox
Seniors. More than 60 seniors were served meals. In December, more
than 200 toys were collected for the United States Marine Corps' ToysFor-Tots Program for underprivileged children in our area. In May, the
chapter held its Annual Educational Scholarship Golf Tournament, a
fundraiser that yields more than $11,000 in scholarship awards that are
presented in June.
District 4

District 5
Monroe Chapter 75, New Brunswick, N.J.
Middlesex County Freeholder H. James Polos, Ahepan, stands with His
All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Eminence
Metropolitan Evangelos at the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The freeholder, who is the state's highest-ranking Greek-American elected
official and a member of the Metropolitan's Council, was part of the
Archbishop's entourage to witness the Ordination to the Diaconate of
George Tomczewski, a graduate of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School
of Theology in Brookline, Mass. The historic and rare event took place at
the Sacred Patriarchal Church of St. George in Constantinople.
