AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS

AHEPA Chapter 41, Brooklyn, N.Y.
The chapter announced a $20,000 donation to
the campaign to help rebuild Saint Nicholas
National Shrine & Greek Orthodox Church at
World Trade Center, January 29, 2017. The
chapter announced the donation at a celebration of the Feast of the Three Hierarchs
at Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church,
Brooklyn. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios
attended. Also present were the co-chairs of
the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues,
U.S. Reps. Gus Bilirakis and Carolyn Maloney,
who were honored that day by Archbishop
Demetrios.
AHEPA Chapter 125,
Schenectady, N.Y.
The chapter hosted a Palm Sunday luncheon for the community of St. George Greek
Orthodox Church, Schenectady, April 9, 2017.
The proceeds benefited St. George.
AHEPA Chapter 140, Albany, N.Y.
Albany was the site for an AHEPA Family Regional Conference, March 18, 2017. Chapter 37, Syracuse; Chapter 125, Schenectady;
and Trojan Chapter 306, Troy, participated. Four AHEPA chapters from Upstate New York honored 17 Veterans for their service
at the conference luncheon, hosted by Chapter 140 and attended by U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko (D-NY), Supreme President Andrew
Zachariades, Supreme Governor Chris Diamantoukos and District 6 Lt. Governor Demi Pamboukes. Congressman Tonko, Supreme
President Zachariades assisted District 6 Veterans Chairman Mark Theophilis with the presentation of the AHEPA Medals for Military
Service and Certificates to the Veterans. Those honored
from Chapter 140 honored were: George Amanatides,
Danny Bahlatzis, Nicholas Balahtsis, Hercules Diveris,
James Gallas, Chris Hermedes, John Karatzou, Ted
Kondoprias, Michael Koutelis, Ted Moisides, Mark
Theophilis, Stavros Tsiatsas, Deacon Constantine Yavis,
and Gus Ziamandanis. The veterans honored from
Trojan Chapter 306 were: Carl Alesio, Paul Huban and
Michael Papadopoulos.
