Anemia Foundation
Donates $10K to
St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital
The AHEPA Cooley's Anemia Foundation
donated $10,000 to St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital at the third annual St. Jude Field of
Dreams, May 13, 2017, in Birmingham, Ala.
AHEPA Cooley's Anemia Foundation Chairman
Ike Gulas, PSP, presented the donation for
research conducted by Dr. Mitchell Weiss, who
chairs the Hematology Department at St. Jude's.
Dr. Weiss has been aggressive in his pursuit of
a cure for Thalassemia (Cooley's Anemia) and
AHEPA Cooley's Anemia Chairman Gulas presents a $10,000 donation to St. Jude
Sickle Cell Anemia. AHEPA is steadfast in its
Children's Research Hospital.
commitment to help researchers find a cure.
Alabama Attorney General Visits Penelope House
As part of National Crime Victims' Rights
Week, Attorney General Steve Marshall
visited Penelope House, April 6, 2017.
He toured the facility and spoke with
Penelope House staff.

General Marshall," Penelope House

Torrans said. "As a long-time District
Attorney in Marshall County, Attorney
General Marshall certainly understands
the work we do and the need for abusers
to be held accountable for their actions."
