partners to provide millions of dollars in aid to help
address the medical supply shortage in Greece.
Also, the delegation met with local community leaders
and exchanged gifts of appreciation with them. Moreover,
they visited the village of Past Supreme President V.I.
Chebithes (1924-27; 1935-40) to meet with his family
descendants. (See Page 14.) PSP Chebithes was responsible for AHEPA's major growth and expansion during the
Order's first decade, especially West of the Mississippi.
Radio Ikaria 86.7 covered the historic visit to Ikaria.
In Cyprus, the delegation met with Foreign Minister
Nicos Christodoulides, Presidential Commissioner for
Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots Photis
Photiou, and National Guard Chief Lieutenant General
Ilias Leontaris. U.S.-Cyprus relations, energy exploration
in Cyprus's exclusive economic zone, the status of the
resumption of settlement talks, and humanitarian issues
were discussion topics. The delegation also appreciated
the hospitality of the Brothers of AHEPA District 27
(Cyprus) who hosted several dinner events for the group.
"We are grateful to the government of Cyprus, its
officials, and to our Brother Ahepans in District 27 for
facilitating a fruitful visit to Cyprus," Hollister said.
The annual AHEPA Family Leadership Excursion
concluded with visits to Athens, Thessaloniki and Berlin.
In Athens, the delegation conducted a series of
high-level meetings and attended several events hosted
by AHEPA Hellas District 25. Meetings were held with:
President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos,
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, U.S. Ambassador to Greece
Geoffrey Pyatt, Minister of Defense Panos Kammenos,
who hosted a defense briefing; Minister of Tourism Elena
Kountoura, where plans were discussed for the 2021
Supreme Convention in Athens, and President of New
