AHEPA Helps Iowa, Nebraska
Flood Victims
Ahepans from Chapter 534, Ralston, Nebraska, led efforts to provide relief to flood victims in Iowa and Nebraska. The chapter coordinated relief efforts with the American Red Cross, International
Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), and local Orthodox parishes
flood to raise more than $6,000. The Ahepans, with the help of
Lowe's, were able to purchase and provide the American Red
Cross with seven pallets of supplies that provided an immediate
need to the thousands of flood victims. Chapter 534 will continue
to raise funds for additional supplies.
AHEPA Medical Library at Evangelismos Hospital Takes Shape
During the 2019 AHEPA Family Leadership Excursion (see page
12), Supreme President George E. Loucas received a tour of the
newly constructed AHEPA Medical Library at Evangelismos
Hospital in Athens, Greece, on May 10, 2019.
In May, a mobile library unit was delivered to the facility.
Computer hardware and software, and the remainder of the
library's furnishings, are expected soon thereafter.
"AHEPA's campaign to provide public health assistance
to Greece continues," Loucas said. "With this library project,

undertaken by Athens Chapter HJ-1, we are contributing to
Greece's public health infrastructure to make the resources
available that will aid medical professionals and students with
their research and connect them with medical centers around
the world."
He added, "I commend our brothers from Chapter HJ-1 for raising the funds to make this important resource of a library a reality."
Past Canadian President Xenophon Scoufaras serves as
co-chairman of the library project.
