Former Board of Trustees
Member, PSG Steven Tripodes
AHEPA mourns the passing of Past Supreme Governor Steven G.
Tripodes. Brother Tripodes, a 67-year Life Member of Rose Bowl
Chapter 373, Pasadena, Calif., passed
away Feb. 19, 2020. He was 87.
"We are deeply saddened by
Brother Tripodes' passing," Supreme
President George G. Horiates said. "A
pillar of the Greek American community of Southern California, we are
forever grateful for Brother Tripodes'
decades of dedication and service to
our Order, which garnered the respect
and admiration of AHEPA family members throughout the domain.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences are with the Tripodes
family. May his memory be eternal."
Brother Tripodes served two terms as supreme governor and
several terms on the Board of Directors/Trustees, including as
its secretary. He also was the recipient of the AHEPA District 20
Periclean Award and contributed to many AHEPA national projects,
including the AHEPA Float in the Tournament of Roses Parade and
the "Tribute" to Olympism sculpture in Atlanta, Ga.

Former National
Educational Foundation
Member Paul Peter Hatgil
AHEPA is saddened by the passing of Brother Paul Peter
Hatgil, who served on the AHEPA National Educational
Foundation. Brother Hatgil,
an AHEPA Life Member serving most in Stephen F. Austin
Chapter 312, Austin, Texas,
passed away April 6, 2020.
"We mourn the passing
of Brother Hatgil," Supreme
President George G. Horiates
said. "We are grateful to his
many years of service to the
Order and for his contributions to an important facet of
AHEPA's mission, which is education, as a member of the
National Educational Foundation. Further, his service to our
nation during World War II was appreciated. Our deepest
sympathies are with his family. May his memory be eternal."
A career academician, Brother Hatgil was professor
emeritus at the University of Texas where he taught for 34
years. Prior to his teaching career, Brother Hatgil served in
the South Pacific during World War II.
