The AHEPAN - Winter 2016 - 21
Upcoming Events Critical to
SOP Supreme President Nikolas A. Apostolou
The Sons of Pericles continues to work toward achieving growth
in membership and its fundraising goals. We ask the AHEPA
Family for assistance, especially with making connections and
introductions to prospective members.
The Junior Order's goals are particularly
important as the Sons of Pericles celebrates its 90th anniversary. Marquee
events such as the annual Basketball
Weekend in Connecticut, to Greeks in
LA, to the Valentine's Dance in Albany, to
a networking and Valentine's Day social
in Athens, Greece, are all critical for the
Junior Order's success.
Nikolas A. Apostolou
The strengthening of chapters formed
during the previous year has been the focus of the Supreme Lodge.
The Supreme Lodge officers are working with the chapters' leadership to help the chapters grow and to keep them engaged in Sons
of Pericles programs. Also, several potential chapter reactivations
are on the horizon. My recent visitations have taken me to chapters
in Albany, N.Y., Bayside, N.Y., Denver, Falls Church, Va., and I found
the visitations to be quite productive.
Finally, the Sons of Pericles continues to raise funds for our
National Project, St. Jude Children's Hospital, and our President's
Project, Opportunity Knocks. Also, raffle tickets benefitting St.
Nicholas are being sold until the Supreme Convention.
Proud to be a Son!

Sons of Pericles Hosts
The Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge hosted its annual
Governors' Conference in Washington, D.C. The participation of Sons members from 10 different chapters, a
special visitation from Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell,
and a private event at the Greek Embassy all led to a
success conference. In addition to strategic planning, the
conference heightened awareness of the Sons of Pericles'
National Project, St. Jude's Children's Hospital; and highlighted key events held during the year, including the
organization's two marquee basketball tournaments in
Los Angeles and New York City. The conference attendees departed with an excitement to work together to
enhance their Greek heritage, to grow chapters, and to
continue the legacy of the Sons of Pericles.
PSP Andreas Christou Honored with
The Albany Sons of Pericles Chapter hosted a testimonial dinner for Sons of Pericles
Past Supreme President Andreas Christou for his years of service to the Junior Order
at the chapter, district, and national levels.
Brother Andreas served many years on the Supreme Lodge culminating to
serving as President for the 2015-2016 calendar year. His year was highlighted with
membership retention and growth across the United States, Canada, and Greece.
Also, under his guidance, the Sons of Pericles raised thousands of dollars for the
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine. Brother Andreas' work
and commitment to the betterment of the Sons of Pericles was greatly appreciated!
