District 7
Yankee District 7
Ahepans representing many chapters from throughout the district attended a Pan-Hellenic community welcome for Dr. Thomas
Katsouleas, as the 16th president of the University of Connecticut,
hosted by the Hellenic Society Paideia, Sept. 29, 2019. Supreme
Governor Jack Isaac and District 7 Lt. Gov. Demetrius Tasoulas spoke
at the event, and Past Supreme Counselor Greg Stamos served as
Master of Ceremonies. Father Nikolaos Mataragas, Waterbury, and
retired Father Charles Simones, an Ahepan, provided the opening prayer. In addition, Ahepans presented a plaque for the 2019
Hellene of the Year to Paideia's head, Dr. Ilias Tomazos, for his outstanding efforts to preserve Hellenism.
AHEPA Chapter 62, Bridgeport, Conn.
The chapter hosted the Yankee District 7 Fall Conference, Oct.
12, 2019. More than 44 AHEPA family members attended. Joint
AHEPA-DOP activities included breakout meetings where the
notion of establishing a Hellenic Summit to identify and address
issues of importance was discussed. Supreme Governor Jack
Isaac attended.
AHEPA Chapter 121, Pawtucket, R.I.
The chapter held its annual fundraising event to promote AHEPA's work and to
support the community's Greek School, Sept. 29, 2019. Greek School teachers
approached the chapter for assistance with supplying the school with modern
teaching aids, helping both teachers and students to by providing a great learning
and fun experience. Past District 7 Gov. Greg Simones, who now serves as District
Secretary, provided remarks. Standing (l-r): Tom Walsh, George Dafoulas, Nick

Fr. Phillip, Thanasis Stefanopoulos (Newport Chapter), and Konstantin Pagonis.
