Ohio's Governor, Lt. Governor Join AHEPA
AHEPA welcomes Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor
Jon Husted as two of its newest members, announced Supreme
President George G. Horiates. Supreme President Horiates
thanked Past Supreme President Carl R. Hollister and District
11 Gov. Nick Regopoulos, who accompanied him to The Ohio
Statehouse for the ceremony and a tour on Sept. 23, 2019. The
rich tradition of public servants joining AHEPA continues, especially from the Buckeye State, where previous public servants
such as U.S. Senators John Glenn and George Voinovich, were
Ahepans.
The induction of Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted
into AHEPA was part of Supreme President Horiates' week-long
visitation to Ohio where he visited AHEPA chapters in: Warren,
Youngstown, Toledo, and Columbus. In Columbus, he also met
with Ahepans representing chapters in Dayton, Middletown,
and Cincinnati.

AHEPA Delivers More Aid to Flint Water Crisis Victims
Michigan's AHEPA family successfully
completed its 7th "Milk for Flint" giveaway,
September 26, 2019. They provided gallons
of milk to 354 Flint households represented,
and the line of residents was non-stop for
almost 2-1/2 hours, according to organizers. The event earned media coverage from
ABC12 and NBC25/FOX66.
AHEPA thanks Flint's Catholic Charities,
led by Mary Stevenson, for teaming up with
AHEPA to allow volunteers to efficiently distribute the milk to the Flint residents from
their Center for Hope facility. AHEPA is also
grateful to Kim Green, manager of Kroger
store #404, for the great milk price and the coordination of the delivery to the distribution point in downtown Flint.
AHEPA has raised $26,000 to deliver 14,000 gallons of milk to Flint residents since the first giveaway in March 2016. Look for an
8th "Milk for Flint" giveaway in Spring 2020.
