"Mr. Economidis is a dedicated Hellene and Ahepan who
shares AHEPA's commitment to all facets of its mission,
including philanthropy, education, family and individual excellence," Supreme President Frangos said. "From his professional
achievements, to his love for Hellenic ideals and religious freedom, to his charitable and volunteer work in the community,
AHEPA is thrilled to present Mr. Economidis with this well-deserved honor. We are proud to count him as an Ahepan because
he truly fulfills the organization's mission on a daily basis."
In acceptance, Economidis complimented AHEPA stating
the award was a testament to the organization and its members.
"It was Ahepans who paved the way for our success and
achievements," he said. "AHEPA helped us as immigrants along
the way to painting a canvas and the canvas has become a
portrait."
He added Greek American will continue to thrive, but to do
so, will require the involvement of our youth.
"We must inspire our youth, give them a Voice, to continue
the canvas," Economidis said.
In conclusion, he stated AHEPA has left an indelible
imprint, having changed his life. He met his wife, Cynthia, at
the 1965 AHEPA Supreme Convention in Athens, Greece. In
2014, she passed away. Economides dedicated the award to
her memory.
