"No matter what happens tomorrow, Greece is facing a
tremendous degree of difficulty," he said. "AHEPA won't be
able to solve it, but AHEPA was there for Greece many times,
after World War II and civil war; and AHEPA will be there for
Greece again."
He dedicated a portion of his speech to the second "A" of the
AHEPA acronym, "Association." Frangos noted the importance
of organization and touched upon the contribution of philhellenes as a strength of AHEPA.
The supreme president acknowledged the love and support provided over the year by his family: his wife, Tula, son
Themistocles, and daughter, Maria.

Donations to St. Nicholas, Grants Announced
During the course of the program, AHEPA family entities, districts, and chapters, were able to make donation presentations
to Archbishop Demetrios reflecting their fundraising efforts for
the campaign to help rebuild Saint Nicholas National Shrine
at World Trade Center. All told, nearly $115,000 in donations
were presented to His Eminence. (See Page 16.)

In addition, Angelo Kostarides, president, AHEPA National
Housing Program, announced the program's grant awards and
donations via its national and local housing boards to community service and charitable organizations. Beneficiaries also
include the Sons of Pericles, Maids of Athena, and The Ahepan.
Supreme President Frangos announced the National
Chapter of Year Award, which was presented to Chapter 78,
Merrillville/Gary, Ind. The chapter has excelled at every facet
of the Order's mission. Brother Efstathios G. Kefalides, Orfeus
Chapter HJ-20, received the 2015 Ahepan of the Year Award.
The convention, which officially began Tues., June 30,
officially concluded with the Installation Ceremony of newly-elected officers, July 4.
"We appreciate all those who came from near and far-from
our local San Francisco AHEPA family to our delegates and
guests who came from Greece, Bulgaria, and Australia-and
commend them for taking the time to be with us and to
attend to the business of the Order," Executive Director Basil
Mossaidis said.
