Peter Vlahos Outstanding High School
Athlete Award. Christianson was team
captain in both cross country and
track and field, and a member of
the National Honor Society for four
consecutive years. Kiriazis was First
Team All-Conference football, as well
as a member of the Conference AllAcademic team, and Second Team AllOhio Football. He was also the Class of
2015 Vice-President, a member of the
National Honor Society and of the high
school basketball team.
Emily O'Sullivan, Purchase, N.Y.,
and Yianni Mantziaras, Wethersfield,
Conn., each received the AHEPA
Athletics Booster Club Outstanding
High School Athlete Award. O'Sullivan
is a three time New England Prep
School All-Star basketball player, as
well as her high school's all-time leader
in scoring and rebounding. She is also
a member of the school's golf team and
its Honor Roll. Mantziaras was captain
of his high school basketball team,
was named to the All-Conference

basketball team, and selected as an
Academic All-State selection.
George Sehremelis, Los Alamitos,
Calif., received the PSP Franklin R.
Manios Scholar-Athlete and Service
Award. He was captain of the lacrosse
team at Los Alamitos High School and
is ranked fourth out of 719 students
academically.
Nicholas Kavouklis, Tampa, Fla.,
received the PSP Louis G. Manesiotis
Scholar-Athlete Award. He was Captain
of his high school football and baseball
teams, a member of the All-County
Baseball team, and a Dean's list student every semester.
Anna Panagiotakopoulos, Phoenix,
Ariz., received the Past Supreme
Athletic Director Dr. Monthe N. Kofos
Scholar-Athlete Award. She was a
member of the volleyball team at West
Virginia University and will be a member of the University of Arizona volleyball team. She was named to the
Big-12 Conference All-Academic Team
for 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Leontia Kallenou of Cyprus received
the Dr. Kimon Doukas Collegiate ScholarAthlete Award. Kallenou competes for
the University of Georgia and is the current NCAA Collegiate Champion in the
high jump, indoors and outdoors. She
has represented Cyprus in International
track and field events since the age of
15, was named 2014 NCAA Track and
Field First Team All-American, and also
to the All-Southeastern 2014 Conference
Academic Honor Roll.

Daughters of Penelope Athletic
Awards
The Daughters of Penelope presented
Christina Gerecke, a golf and softball standout, with the Zoe Cavalaris
Award. In addition, Penelope House
Executive Director Tonie Ann Torrans
received induction into the Daughters
of Penelope Athletic Hall of Fame
for her career in Volleyball at the
University of Southern Mississippi.
Torrans is also a trailblazer, being the
first girl to play Little League Baseball.

Antetokounmpo drops
in on SOP hoops
tournament
Greek basketball star Thanasis Antetokounmpo,
who recently signed with the New York Knicks,
stopped by to support the Sons of Pericles Annual
"Greeks in NYC" Eastern Regional Basketball
Tournament, June 6. 2015. He is pictured
with then-Supreme President Jimmy Googas,
Supreme Vice President Andreas Christou,
Supreme Secretary Nikolas Apostolou, and
Supreme Athletic Director Panagiotis Tsevdos.
